APPLE PAINTING

"It is not that I belong to the past, but the past that belongs to me." -Mary Antin

WASHINGTON APPLES Almost a month ago, I was in the evergreen state, Washington which is famous for those big, delicious, sweet, RED apples. I didn't have the chance to eat a big one, but I enjoyed seeing and touching a real apple tree. I picked a small green apple from an apple tree and it tasted sweet despite of its size. I often buy red apples from Costco but its more thrilling to get them from where they come from. This trip to Washington brought back memory of an old oil painting named "Five Apples." "FIVE APPLES" This is the only photo I have of the this apple oil painting. This event was the Filipino-American Induction Ball in the late 80's. The incoming president Tess, asked me to donate a painting for the event raffle. I gladly donated this simple oil painting. The artist (me) was standing on the left side. The woman on the right side won this oil painting through a raffle.
I never saw this painting again nor the woman who won it. But the memory of the painting remains forever.
SHORT BLOG This is a short post as I am extremely busy preparing for my coming first solo art show this coming September 27. I will be posting my new oil paintings after my art show.
